				*** How do I begin?

Flash Infiltrator is a game you can play over the modem with other people
at the same time. You start out by calling a major bbs, and then jumping to
DOS through a DOS shell. Then you run FI01.EXE. It will ask you what com port
you want to use. Type in the number of the com port your modem is using, or
if you want to play by yourself, type in SOLO.

				*** What now?

Here, a lot of people have problems. If you type in anything and it doesnt
repeat or prompt you.. something's amiss! Press F10 to exit and try again
with perhaps another com port. If none of them work, it may be your term
program. You can also play this starting from DOS without entering a term
program. If you do this, it is a mini-term program in itself, except it
has no modem options. Then you can type in ATDT and the number of the
BBS you meant to call. If nothing works and you're real fed up, call
Galacticomm and they may be able to help, or simply talk to people on the BBS.
(Note: I found out Flash Infiltrator isn't too friendly with QEMM)

				*** Well, it works fine...

When you come to the prompt you'll know because on top it will say
"Flash Infiltrator" with other stuff. It works when you can communicate
with other people in teleconference. Anyway, to enter a game, press F9.
If nothing happens, be sure youre in teleconference and still connected.
Refer to tips above if you can't enter...
For help, always press F1. To exit, press F10.

*** In the game... works ok I think...

When youre in the game, you can chat with other people. Press F7 to begin
the game. It will start when everyone else presses it. If someone leaves,
everyone has to press F7 again.

				*** Playing the game itself

Your objective is to destroy every base on the map. Those are the little
triangles. They are color coded according to player.
1. Blue 2. Green
3. Cyan (Light Blue) 4. Red
5. Purple 6. Brown
7. Light Gray (Computer Decoy)

The number of bases in the game include every player plus one computer
"decoy" base to earn brownie points on. In future versions, you can score
some good points that way. Computer bases don't do anything (yet).
Your bases is surrounded by 3 box things... or droids (use your imagination).
Use the arrow keys to move them around. Hold down the shift key WHILE moving
to shoot, or just use your numeric keypad. Your droid has an some items.

				*** Droid info

Mains - The main weapon you fire.
Mines - Plant them to destroy enemy droids (Only you see yours)

Complex Items (DON'T use this until you get the hang of the game!!!):

Press F3 to see your item status. A cyan marker shows which one you're
using right now. Press the <SPACE> bar to use the item under your marker.
Press the <TAB> key to select which one to use. When you're done, press
F2 to go back to the main screen. Usually, after you use an item, you have
to move first for it to appear, like turrets or field generators.

The first four are force field generators. If you place the first one across
from the second one, and if theyre close enough, they form a field. The parts
that stick out of 2 different fields must point toward each other for it to
work. The fields act like walls... and they have a strange effect on lazers
(Not droid cannons). They don't work on snow though.

The next four are pointy arrows. They are special turrets. They shoot constantly
in the direction you set it. You can't destroy them. There is a limited number
(200 on the screen maximum, no maximum per player though). My tip...
do not stand in their way!!! Oh, a little hint, don't get trigger happy
with them or it will slow the game. Also, you may think it's as easy as
surrounding your base... well it's not. If the enemy can't get in, you can't
get out!!! That'll make some people mad. In the registered version, they
will have hit points.

The next one is a tree. It is camoflauge. Its useless in snow because youre
still green. You can move around and noone can tell you from a tree. Press
<SPACE> to remove it if it's on, if the tree in the item status is highlited.

The next is a (P)ower-up. It refills EVERYTHING of your tank. Its good in
the heat of battle if you're quick enough...

Avaliable droids: These are how many you have left after you die. If you
run out, you're out. Switch to another droid.

To switch to another droid, press I and then the droid number (1-3) you want to
switch to.

				*** Base info

Youre base has a limited power supply. Dont let anyone shoot in the direction
of your base core or you'll get hit. Enough hits... youre vaporized! You wont
be able to move any droids... but you'll be in the big map mode. Your
base has an array of weapons and defenses to prevent this:

(B)linders: Blinds any droid in range with a flash of light for a limited
time.

(L)azers: Zap through trees and destroy mountains and droids and even other
bases! They have a strange effect on force fields...

(N)ukes: Throw bombs at other bases. Explosion size is determined by the
diameter of the blast. The larger the diameter, however, the more nukes you
lose. Angle and range are other factors. Nukes incinerate anything in
their way, including mountains (and water!).

(S)hields: Temporarily protect your base.

(H)iders: Hide your base with the same concept as shields. if you're surrounded
by trees... don't even bother. It will also hide any droids around the base
until they move again.

(A)ngle: Determines the angle of your lazer or nuke. Press A to select.
Press + and - to move it 1 at a time, or _ and = to move it 5 at a time.

(R)ange: Determines the range of your nuke. Press R to select. Same concept
as angle.

(D)iameter: Determines the size of your explosion (and how many nukes you use)
Select D to change and + or - to increase/decrease only. You wont be able to
shoot if you're trying to use more nukes than you have.

NOTE: If you use hiders or shields and your droid ends up in the core of the
base... it will be destroyed.

				*** Other Commands

F4: If you're in chat, you can toggle on and off a special map for the game.
The toggle is there because it could make your game slower or you may not have
enough free memory so you don't HAVE to have it on. Default is OFF. So be
sure you get used to turning it on if you want to.

F4: If you're in the game, press it to toggle viewing the special map. It
will show the areas your tank has already covered. It wont show anyone's
tank though... those objects are moveable. Chances are in place of them
will be big black spots.

If youre playing, press C to talk to people playing with you. Press O to talk
to people waiting to play. If youre waiting to play, press F2 to talk to people
playing to see when theyll be done! Neat, eh!?

Alt-V turns on and off sound. F9 brings you back to teleconference in addition
to putting you in the game, and F10 and ESC exits totally from anywhere.

				*** New concepts

You can see everywhere your tank has explored through a special map. In
addition, you have to deal with special self-shooting indestructable
turrets and force fields.

InterChat lets you talk to people in and out of the game. I feel it's about time
someone made that for a flash game!

				*** Annoying bugs

My game isn't picture perfect. It has its flaws. Here's some to look out for:

* You may get memory allocation problems. It's not uncommon if you're playing
in a shell from a term program that costs memory. This game uses conventional
memory if you wanna experiment. I suggest you may even run the program by
itself if neccessary.

* You may suddenly exit from the game without pressing a key. This is
usually the result of line noise. It happens more often if it's crowded.

*** How do I register Flash Infiltrator?

Sysops don't have to register this game, you do. If you want to play it,
your choice. If you register, you get:

* A special add-on to save maps and a view to look at them in the future
to look back and laugh at your opponents
* An options menu (global options on game set-up and restrictions)
* Color-level terrain
* Improved turrets with hit points
* Various sorts of droids
* Scoring, bonus items around terrain at random
* 2 special cameras to watch enemys or your base
* Remote controlled missiles :)
* 10 player capability
* If you registered and wish to buy an updated version of any of my flash
games, it will cost less (if I ever get to one <g>)

NOTE! CHRIS HAAG AND GALACTICOMM WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOST
MAIL! (In otherwards, it's the postman's fault! <g>)

(15 dollars may seem a lot, but Flash games aren't usually priced that low!)

*** How do I make my own Flash Game?

You can call Galacticomm and ask them...

Voice: 1-305-583-5990
Modem: 1-305-583-7808

I'm on Galacticomm as Dragonman... the user with the plan to make high scoring
in flash!!!

E-Mail the SysOp and ask for the Free Flash Developers kit!!!... only one
thing though... you have to know either C or Pascal.

*** What are some good boards I can play on?

Adventure Source (Michigan) 1-313-953-8666
Electronic Lucidity (Michigan) 1-810-680-8861
Galacticomm (Florida) 1-305-583-7808

Consult these boards and ask for other good ones, because I don't know all of
'em! If you run a MBBS and you want to, send in your number so I can post it.

If you want to reach me, my internet address is hannibal@gcomm.com.
This game isn't all that bad put together by a 15 year-old
with some help, eh?

Well, the reading is over... now go and knock yourself out!

(P.S. for players familiar with Flash Attack, Flash Cyborg (FAC) will
NOT work with this game. And neither will mine cheats or editors. HA!)
