HistoryCross Country Camel was, with Hangman, part of a package of two separate modules marketed together for a very low price for the time. Cross Country Camel was based upon the old TRS-80 game of the same name. The combo was sold until the Galacticomm acquisition. After that, Cross Country Camel was not sold until this project. This fun, Middle-Eastern game of strategy is based upon the original TRS BASIC game where players try to successfully lead their camels across the desert, avoiding pygmies and other hazards. The strategy of the game includes knowing when to push their camels further, when to rest, when to drink, and more... but if players aren't careful, both their camel and themselves will wind up as "buzzard food". The game maintains a high score list of those players who have travelled the farthest. The distance to be travelled is configurable, allowing the Sysop to set the level of challenge.. and reward the victor. GameplayCross Country Camel is a single-player text interface games. A series of menus guide the user to the game sections, and Top Score lists keep the competition interesting. |
