h2. History
One of the problems of a multiuser BBS program as opposed to a multinode BBS program was the inability to "shell out" to DOS, that is, suspend the BBS program and get to a DOS prompt. If one was allowed to do this, everyone on the BBS would pause, not just the channel that was shelling out.
Users needed to be able to perform basic DOS tasks. A couple of ISVs answered this need. [Logicom]'s [Don Arnel|DonArnel] was one of them.
The need for this module was eliminated when [Galacticomm|gcomm:Home] released version 6.0 of [The Major BBS|gcomm:TheMajorBBS], which incorporated the Remote Sysop Menu from [Moonshae Telecomm|MoonshaeTelecomm]'s [Functions and Utilities|FunctionsAndUtilities] package, which included these features.
