QuickMail

History
By 1990, a large number of systems, both entertainment and customer support, had grown very large and had attracted a large customer base. In addition, businesses were purchasing [The Major BBS] as its central office network system. Getting information to large numbers of users at once, and targeting the right users, had become difficult. QuickMail was [Galactic Innovations]'s solution to e-mail mailing list management, both for system operators, and for customers and users of the systems.
After the [Galacticomm] purchase of [Galactic Innovations] in December 1990, QuickMail was not sold. QuickMail, therefore, had a very short commerical lifetime.
Utility Information
This enhancement to the electronic mail service of [The Major BBS] allows messages (and attached files) to be copied automatically to "distribution lists" of users. Each user can have his/her own personal list as well as using lists defined by the Sysop. An added feature allows a message to be copied to all users.
