Guess What

History

Guess What was one of the earlier modules from Logicom for The Major BBS, developed in 1987. It was based upon the popular television game show Wheel of Fortune.

A client/server version was produced in 1995, but appears to have been lost.

Game Information

Players compete for high scores on the top ten list by guessing hidden words or phrases. Five categories of puzzle types include: words, things, people, places, and phrases. Each player plays 10 rounds, and is given a puzzle to solve which is chosen at random. Players accumulate points throughout the game by correctly guessing the hidden letters until they can give the correct answer.

Gameplay

Guess What was a text-based game. Players interacted via a command prompt. The game was single-player, but had a top score list to keep the competition going.

UNIX Version

Guess What, along with Yahtzee, were the two add-ons included with The Major BBS 6.25 for UNIX.
