Androids!

Androids! is a fast-paced realtime interactive multiplayer ANSI game where your character must collect as many points as possible as fast as possible, ramming your opponents when you can. Similar to FLASH! games, Androids provides top-threes for total points, and points per hour. (Written by Tim Stryker. Formerly Galacticomm)

Archery

Be a Cyber-Robin Hood! Knock an arrow on your bow, and test your skills against a moving target, and the wind. If you've got what it takes you might just make the top scores list. A full Client/Server version available. (Formerly GraphicWares and Wizard Software)

Battledroids

BattleDroids is a mechanized arena of the future where high tech war machines rule the battlefield, and death or glory are just a heartbeat away. BattleDroids is played on a roughly square battlefield five thousand 'hexes' across. Each hex is approximately one hundred meters across and is one location in the game. Any given location can contain buildings, droids (yours or another players) or one of many cyborg piloted droids. (Written by Sean Ferrell. Formerly Sourceror's Guild).

Bowlathon

A fun text bowling game that lets you play a full game, and storing high scores in a top ten list! (Written by Yannick Tessier. Formerly Tessier Technologies)

Electronic Fairways

A simple little single player text golf simulator. Play at your own pace, with a top ten list for the best scores on the system. (Written by Don Arnel. Formerly Logicom)

Robowars II

A fun and exciting turn-based game, Robowars II allows your users to build their own battle-bot from the ground up - choosing armor, weaponry, power supply, and more. Then, they head into battle with CompuBots or with each other, hoping to avoid damage will collecting money to continually improve their robots. Strangely addicting, the program features a bank and some games of chance to improve (or harm!) players' financial positions. Bulk up and get ready, or you may find yourself ATOMIZED! Space Wumpus

This is a fast paced game where users enter a playing field to begin battle. If a user enters by himself then he competes against 25 other computer players. In this game the users mode around and try to stomp each other before they get stomped. So if two users are side by side on the grid and the left user hits his right arrow key before the right user hits his left arrow key then he wins and continues to stomp other users. The stomped user is sent to a waiting room where he can talk to other players. (Formerly Wizard Software)

Zone RAIDERS!

Zone RAIDERS! is a multi-player combat game originally based on the "survivalist" camps popular in the early 80's.  Players here are given the opportunity to be really hostile to each other with no real-life side effects.

Zone RAIDERS! takes place in REAL TIME, on a 50 by 50 square grid. Each grid position is a place you can stand, so there are 2500 different locations in the game.  Everyone has HEALTH and ENERGY POINTS.  As you are attacked, your health decreases.  You never heal (without assistance) in Zone RAIDERS!, because the time span of the game is too short to allow it to happen in real life.  If your health goes below zero, you die, and are out of the game. These modules simulate board games popular in culture, or new board-style games, as well as include some strategy games where your decisions will affect the outcome.

Cross Country Camel

Guide your camel across the desert! You're being chased by pygmies, your water supplies are limited, and you have to watch out for the natives! He who guides his camel furthest wins. Includes top score list. (Written by Richard Skurnick. Formerly Moonshae Telecomm)

Electronic Board Games

Chess, Checkers, Othello, and more. A whole suite of traditional board games. (Original Chess/Checkers game written by Phil Gorrow and Don Pitchford of Multi-Comm. Othello by Jeff Kobal and Scott Brinker. Formerly Multi-Comm, then Moonshae Telecomm/Galactic Innovations. A later version added games by Jeff Kobal and was distributed by Psycho Software, but that version seems lost.).

FOURmation

Dare to challenge others to this mighty game of cunning and wits! Try to get 4 tiles in-a-row before your opponent does or face defeat. (Originally Magicomm)

GridLoc

A version of the game Connect Four for your system. (Free from PolarShock)

Mancala

This module is a recreation of the ancient African game of Mancala. Your users challenge one another and try to gather the most stones. There is instructions on exactly how to play and it also keeps a High Score listing. Once you get the hang of this game it will become very addicting. (Formerly Cheersoft, then Adventurecomm)

Number Shuffle

Number Shuffler is a brain-teaser puzzle game.  This is just like when you were a kid and had those little sliding tile puzzles where each tile has a different number on it and you had to shuffle the tiles around until the numbers are in numeric sequence.  That's the entire object of this game, with a subtle difference: You are being timed!

There is a Top-Score list which reflects the best players on the BBS. Everybody's score is based on the time it took them to complete the puzzle. Actual "scores" are adjusted based on what "baud" rate the person solved the puzzle under, and whether they are playing in Text or full-screen-ANSI mode. This is so that scores are realistically comparable no matter what configuration the player used to solve the puzzle. (Written by Jeff Reeder. Originally CovyWare)

Strategic War Games

Strategic War Games

Strategic War Games is Strategic War Games is an ANSI board game for two people. Strategic War Games, basically put, is a war game that requires a keen memory and a sharp mind. Having a good strategic sense helps as well, since this game places  a lot of
emphasis on  strategy,  and  military action against your opponent!

The object of the game is to capture the enemy's  Headquarters  before he captures yours!  Watch out, though;  your opponent will most likely have strong defenses set up in order to prevent you from doing exactly that!  In this game, a good defense can the key to a winning strategy. Card Sharks

Based upon a TV game show of the same name, Card Sharks is a single-player card game that has the user try to gain as much money as possible by betting whether or not a card will be higher or lower than a displayed card.  A top ten list keeps the competition going. Craps (pass-line)

Hearts

Hi-Rollers

Your users roll the die and bank their rolls trying to get the goal you set. A simple and easy game to play for all. This game does not require fast reflexes, just some luck rolling the dice! (Written by Mike Polzin. Formerly Wilderland Software)

Horse Track

Instant Lotto

A module including three distinct rub-off lottery styles based upon former New Jersey Lotto cards. One is the Baseball ruboffrub-off, where you rub off the card and hope to score more runs than the card, another is Three of a Kind, where you rub off the card and hope to match three of a suit, and finally, Guess It, where you rub off three of the six boxes and win anything you have more than one of. Pig

A dice game where you try to be the first to roll points totaling 100 without rolling 7 (where you have to start over) - compete with other players, see how quickly you can be the first to do it - very addicting. (Written by Yannick Tessier. Formerly Tessier Technologies)

Safe Cracker

Can you crack the safe before the cops come running? If you can, you will get the credits inside. But if your caught, be prepared to pay the fine. (Written by Mike Polzin. Formerly Wilderland Software)

We actually have three slots modules - one a configurable simple slots module where users buy coins for credits and pull the handle; another is a full screen ANSI progressive slot machine that includes a pick 6 lottery; the last includes three different distinct progressive machines. Time Machine

This module is great for systems that have a lot of unlimited or monthly type accounts. It allows a user to "cash in" a day of time for credits! Guessing, Memory, "Game Show", and Word Games

These games are fun and often addicting. They have more challenge than simple chance, and are usually competitive for scores and results. There's a wide variety of games here.

Card Sharks

Higher or Lower? It's up to you to decide in this ANSI version of the old game show favorite. Users are shown a card and asked to bet an amount on whether the next will be higher or lower. Chain Reaction

This is a word game that yor your users will love. The sysop can add more puzzles to this game. In this game the user starts with a word, then starts guessing the words. All words are related and work down a chain from the top word to the bottom word. Example: Star Sun Light. As you can see a Sun is related to a Star and Light is related to Sun. Guess What!

A Wheel of Fortune style game where the users guesses letters to try to solve a puzzle. Top score lists augment this fun game! (Written by Don Arnel. Formerly Logicom)

Historical Note: This was one of a very few entertainment modules ported to Major BBS 6.25 and Worldgroup 1.01 for UNIX!

Hangman's Secret Cove

Hangman's Secret Cove is a take-off of the ol' time favorite word game of hangman, but with a twist of casino-type gambling!

You make a bet, and then the computer randomly chooses a word/phrase from its large database.  You then may guess one letter at a time in an attempt to figure out the word/phrase.  You may only guess each letter in the alphabet once (all occurences of the letter will be shown with the first guess).  After 6 wrong guesses, you lose your bet.  At any time, you may also take a guess at the entire word/phrase, however if you guess incorrectly, you'll lose automatically. There are only letters (no numbers, hypens, or special characters) in each word/phrase.  You may exit in the middle of a game by typing "*", but you will lose half of your wager.  There is a minimum wager of 10 chips, and a maximum of 1000 chips. Lingo (Wordle)

Lingo is a word game in which a player is given a five letter word they must try to guess. Each time a player guesses a wrong word, they are told if any of the letters matched up, or if the letter is in the word they are trying to guess. The fewer guesses the player gets the word in, the higher the score. Sysop can add words! Very similar to the later game Wordle. (Formerly Wizard Software)

Thinkdice!

The roll of the dice - guess the right roll, and win a lot of points! But watch out - guess wrong, and you lose some. A top ten list is included. Very addictive. (Written by Rick Hadsall. An Elwynor original)

Fantasy, Space Battle, Strategy, and Pol/Econ Games

These modules include full real-time space battle games, as well as turn-based games or Political/Economic simulations. Space games are often the most popular games on systems, and there's quite a few top notch games here.

Empire of the Peasants

Empire of the Peasants is a game of war and economics. Each player must build their empire from the ground up. Players clash on the battlefield to fight over their empires. Players must also keep a close watch on their taxation rate and their grain and coin production. If grain production falls short of that required by the serfs and soldiers, they will surely starve. A player caught severely neglecting their serfs and soldiers will undoubtedly be beheaded! (formerly MagiComm)

Excalibur!

Excalibur! is a multi-user fantasy game based in a mythical kingdom loosely styled after the mythical kingdom of King Arthur. The kingdom is laid out upon a grid of 260 squares labeled A through Z horizontally and 0 through 9 vertically. Thus, any location in the kingdom can be identified by a unique letter-number combination, such as the city of Camelot located at M5.

Each location on the map represents one of several different types of terrains which might be encountered.  Camelot, for example, is a city.  Other locations can be forests, plains, mountains, swamps, deserts, or other cities. Each terrain has its own characteristics, which may bring adversity or good fortune to the player depending upon a variety of factors which will be described later. The city of Camelot is unique in that it is the seat of government and the location of shops where a player can purchase knights, traveling potions, information, cutthroats, or a cutpurse.  He may also joust knights and win (or lose) gold.  He may deposit or withdraw gold from the king's vault, exchange mail with other players, file suit against other players in the court of the king, check his status, read the recent news, consult his map, see how he ranks compared to other players, and attack the king's guard in order to become king himself.  The player is initially given a purse of gold pieces and a small account in the king's vault.

Each day when the player logs on he will be given more gold, and will be assessed wages for the knights in his retinue.  A player may accumulate more gold by exploring the countryside, finding and capturing cities, and posting knights to defend them against other players.  Each day a player owns a city he collects taxes from it. However, the defending knights' wages are assessed from these taxes, so striking a balance between defensibility and profitability can be a challenge. (Written by Rick Chism. Galactiwars

Galactiwars is an intergalactic political/economic war simulation that can be played over and over again without ever having the same outcome!  As the ruler of your very own planet, it's up to you to see that it prospers, and to set up
defenses to ward off attempts of sabotage, espionage, troop invasions, and nuclear missile attacks from enemy aggressors!  An exciting and VERY ADDICTIVE game of pure strategy! (Written by Don Arnel. Formerly Logicom)

Galactic Empire

Galactic Empire is a multi-player real-time space game combining combat, strategy, and political/economic simulation all in one. Many players can interact in the same expansive universe at the same time - and so will dozens of non-player characters.  These NPCs are either semi-harmless droids (who WILL protect themselves) and very harmful Cybertrons, a race of machines whose goal seems to be the elimination of the human race! Galactic Empire was one of the top 5 games for The Major BBS of all-time!  (Written by Mike Murdock. Originally MBM & Associates)

GaltiTrek

GaltiTrek is a full screen ANSI space game.  Full screen ANSI to the user means no messy screen scrolling during game play.  GaltiTrek has many characteristics which make it enjoyable to play, and addictive. Unlike many other games for The Major BBS (tm), GaltiTrek uses a "single keystroke interface".  There is no need to press ENTER after entering long drawn-out commands.  The end result is a much more enjoyable, and player-friendly game. GaltiTrek supports multiple weapon systems: missile, torpedo, and phasor.  Many ship types are also supported.  Each ship has its own set of characteristics, strengths and limits. Lunatix

Now's the time to express your insanity, play pranks on  other patients, attack each other, flirt with the nurse or other patients, and
discover tons of other things to do in this RPG/Adventure game as you attempt to escape! (currently Prowler Productions, hosted here due to our upgrade to Major BBS V10; consider this module in BETA as of April 2023).

Star Traders

This is an open source free version of Star Lanes, a game of interstellar trading. The object of the game is to amass the greatest amount of money by establishing interstellar shipping lames and purchasing stock in the companies that ultimately will control those lanes. (Free Opensource)

War of Worlds!

Another Pol/Econ game similar to Galactiwars. Fans of WoW are usually anti-GW, and vice versa! War of Worlds includes a tri-Wow feature where your system can host three separate games at once! (Written by Richard Skurnick. Formerly Moonshae Telecomm)

General Entertainment

These modules are entertainment products that do not fit into any of the above categories, but go a long way toward customizing your user experience. We can do custom modifications or modules similar to these, too. Just ask!

Biorhythm Charting

Shows your user their daily biorhythmic behavioral patterns over a thirty day period based upon your birth date. A colorful text output charts your Physical, Sensitivity, and Cognitive cycles. (Written by Don Arnel. Formerly Logicom).

Birthday Announcer

A simple little add-on to enhance the community feel of your system. This popular utility will display whose birthday it is, and what birthdays are coming up. (Written by "Easy Ed" Erdman. Formerly EzSoft)

Chat Lounge

A simple teleconference which allows people to use aliases for total anonymity. Includes generic actions. (Formerly Wilderland Software)

Chinese Zodiac

This module displays an ANSI graphic along with the information that pertains to that year. This is the Chinese version of the zodiac (written in English). Some might be familiar with the Year of the Rat, Horse, Dog, Snake, and so on. That is what is displayed with this module, Type in your year of birth and it will tell you what "Year" you were born in, show you a picture of that Years Sign, and give you information to describe what Kind of people are born during that "Year". Overall a very neat addition to any system! (Formerly AdventureComm)

CyberCards

A great way to keep in touch with other users: Send them a CyberCard! CyberCards allows users to send other users colorful ANSI cards with custom messages via email or to forums. (formerly Wizard Software)

Horoscope

Lets your BBS bring daily horoscopes to your users! Let your users find out what their day will bring, or get guidance in making a decision! Currently has 1000+ horoscopes with more on the way. Includes beautifully designed CLIENT/SERVER interface. (Written by Mike Polzin and TJ Tang. Formerly Wilderland Software, TJ Enterprises)

HOTELeconference

Simply the most expansive, expandable, unique teleconference and community module ever created for Major BBS/Worldgroup. Add plug-in modules to expand functionality! Note: Not compatible to connect and chat/play with users in MajorLink/WorldLink. (formerly Annex)

Picture Gram

Allows users to send ANSI pictures with messages to other users via Email. You can choose and edit the ANSI pictures in CNF, and decide whether to charge users credits to send the Picture Grams, who can use the module by key, what all the text blocks say, and many other options. 50 different ANSI pictures in all to choose from, and you can easily replace the standard pictures with other ANSI. Pizza Parlor

Pizza Parlor is a very small module that packs a lot of silliness in its tiny package.  This module enables a user to "order" a pizza and have it delivered later.  The Parlor simply waits for a certain amount of time to elapse, then injects (so to speak) the pizza down the user's channel.  While its usefulness is questionable, the Pizza Parlor is a good source of humor, as well as keeping users on your BBS a few minutes longer just to see what the pizza looks like.

In addition, the Pizza Parlor can be configured to write E-mail to a user who logs off after ordering a pizza.  If you have this enabled, the module will make an electronic mail message with the pizza in it and mail it to the person in question.  You have the option of configuring what the Pizza Parlor puts in the "From" field of the message (hint: put one of your cosysops' userids there and see what they do when they get a bunch of confused replies!).  Of course, if the user orders a pizza and hangs around long enough for it to "cook", no E-mail is written. Prize Giveaway

Prize Giveaway will be a hit on your BBS system! Let your users enter to win a prize. Sysop can set many options in the program, including the ability to give away free online time, or actual prizes. (Formerly Wizard Software)

Tarot Card Reader

For generations people have believed in the power if the tarot. This module does an authentic Celtic reading. In addition, there is a CLIENT/SERVER interface available which will display the cards in full color. (Written by Mike Polzin. Formerly Wilderland Software)
