The Legend of Elyth-Gor

History

The Legend of Elyth-Gor was created with the Adventure Writer's Toolkit and provides an environment where most anything is possible. It was the first (and only) adventure game created by Mike Murdock of M. B. Murdock & Associates, and the first (and only?) full adventure created using the Adventure Writer's Toolkit.

The game was sold up until 1996, when M. B. Murdock & Associates ceased operations.

Game Information

Welcome first timer to the Legend of Elyth Gor, a multiple player adventure game for the strong of heart. This game will put your skills and wits to the test in a challenging quest to solve the adventure. Remember that many things are not as they seem, and creativity will often help you when all else fails.

The Legend of Elyth-Gor is a cross between the classic text adventure and an action packed user versus user battle game. The players are challenged to solve the mystery of the legend and collect for themselves treasures and rewards while avoiding the many devious pitfalls and some of the other less scrupulous players.

Players can arm themselves with a variety of weapons and go hunting for other players or simply defend themselves and their winnings. All the time working to solve the riddles which make this game interesting and a challenge.

Elyth Gor is an exciting addition to your system and will keep your users spell bound for many many hours. This is a module you simply have to see to appreciate.

Gameplay

Gameplay within The Legend of Elyth-Gor is fairly typical of text "adventure" games (now more commonly called interactive fiction games) like Zork, Colossal Cave, etc; and MUD games, like Dungeon, Rogue, etc. Players issue simple verb-noun command pairs, such as "north", "get object", "mix object1 object2", etc. Players can interact and battle with other players in the game, as well.
