Elwynor Technologies has been working to acquire and collect as many modules/add-ons for The Major BBS and Worldgroup since 2004. The goal was to modernize them to work on Worldgroup 3.2, the last version released by Galacticomm. This version was 32-bit. With the advent of The Major BBS v10 using Visual Studio and supporting modern operating systems, we now work to modernize the modules for that platform (maintaining WG32 and even WG2 compatibility where possible).

Obtaining Module Binaries

Unfortunately this is a little patchwork. The main www.elwynor.com site gets out of date quickly. Github has binaries for software that has a repo there, but for modules that aren't, best ask on Discord for now until someone volunteers to help with this.

Current Efforts

My current efforts are as follows:

  • Majorware (Metropolis) Mutants - V10 port and stability. Currently in testing and going well
  • Majorware (Metropolis) Wheel of Fame - V10 port and stability. Currently in testing and going well
  • Excalibur! (Elwynor) - V10 port, refactor of datetime logic for v2.10b. Testing is beginning now
  • GWW Archery (Elwynor) - V10 port. It's a mess! 
  • CovyWare Strategic War Games (Elwynor) - V10 port
  • Elwynor HTTP Client and IP-as-Location - New products, V10 only. They work, but we're doing a lot of stability testing. Appears to have conflicts with DIALFU as many modules do
  • Date & Time API V2 - for GCOMMLIB / Major BBS V10 core - modernized set of date/time routines without a year cliff.
  • Logicom Blademaster v2.09 V10 port - working, some very minor bugs to clear out
